What is a PLN?

Part of the course I’m doing for my degree is to do with online learning space and a very large part of being a teacher is having a PLN, which is a Personal Learning Network.
So, a PLN is a network of people and places (and sites) that we use as contacts as part of our continued professional development. PLNs may be online, and they may be face-to-face with colleagues. Our PLNs are no longer confined by geography as they were in the past. This means that today, large amounts of information can be shared between people in a PLN, no matter where their location is.
